The alerts tab on the user home page displays all scheduling alerts for projects which the user is responsible for.
Alerts are generated by the scheduling engine whenever constraints, such as a deadline, cannot be met, or when projects cannot be scheduled due to cyclic or recursive dependency links.
Alerts are also used to indicate meeting invitations that have not yet been responded to.
