AlchemyWorks Projects Features

Project Management System Features

AW Hierarchical Design - Projects are structured in a tree with arbitrary depth, and can be used to organise from businesses and business units down to the smallest sub tasks. These can be analysed at all levels against financial detail, time utilisation and other metrics.
AW Dynamic Scheduling - Projects are arranged according to priority, status and any time constraints or dependencies. The calendar is maintained dynamically to reflect the current situation, and alerts generated where constraints are, or will be broken.
AW Document Management - Documents under version control can be attached to project or customer records, ensuring information is easily accessible where it needs to be.
AW Email Integration - Capture email converations, and keep track of progress without having to trawl the inbox. Email discussions are implemented as part of the document management system, and conversations can be attached to any point in the project tree just like other documents.
AW Visitor Accounts - Third parties can be invited by email to participate in projects and tasks, including timeline and events monitoring, document management, chat rooms and risk/change management. Professional level subscriptions support an unlimited number of visitor accounts.
AW Organization Charts - Organization charts can be generated within the contacts and company management module. These can be downloaded as SVG images for inclusion in documents and presentations.
AW PERT Analysis - PERT (Performance Evaluation Review Technique) charts display projects as a network diagram that highlights critical path dependencies. These along with AON (Activity on Node) charts and conventional Gantt charts show a range of different views of the project hierarchy.
AW Kanban Boards - An arbitrary number of Kanban boards can be defined, highlighting projects at a range of status codes. Kanban boards are an ideal tool for managing tasks or projects which have a repetitive or similar nature.
AW Security Marking - Individual entities such as projects, documents, locations or customer records can be protectively marked. Clearance levels define which markings can be seen, such as company confidential, senior management or board level. Combined with project privacy settings which restrict to participant visibility only, provides very fine grained access control.
AW Email Alerts - Alerts are generated during schedule processing and also for events such as pending meeting invitations. Quickly respond to changing circumstances where due dates or deadlines are predicted to be missed. Manage project overruns and resource conflicts by adjusting priorities and dependencies.
AW Collaboration - Projects can be assigned to groups or individuals, with team members at different levels of participation, e.g. Manager, Sponsor, Member, Observer. Project communication combined with built in document management provides an excellent platform for collaboration of geographically dispersed project teams.
AW Skill Based Team Allocation - Team member selection can be based on skill set requirements, availability, locality, or a combination of factors.
AW Staff Communication - Messages can be scheduled for display on user home screens at system or locality level. Administrators with appropriate permissions can view which messages have been read and/or dismissed by individual users.
AW Risk Management - For projects where such controls are appropriate, formal mechanisms are available for both risk management and change management. These features require either a Professional or Enterprise level subscription.
AW Drag and Drop - Quickly change project status by dragging within a Kanban board, or change the hierarchy by dragging tasks around the project tree. Rapidly create task and project dependencies by dragging within the Dependencies Tool, or create line reporting relationships within contact or user hierarchies.
AW Mobile Friendly - The style of user interface and menu system can be chosen according to browser type, and individual features turned on or off according to device capability or preference. This allows the system to be tuned for current or future devices. A set of examples are defined for common mobile platforms. A specific front-end application for the Android™ platform is available for download on Google Play™.
AW User Dashboard - The user home page gives easy access to all pending projects segregated by level of involment, whether that be management, sponsorship, membership or observation. Also shown are any risks assigned to the user, or alerts from project conflicts.
AW Workflow Control - Status maps allow project flows to be controlled, and project details such as hierarchy, ownership, priority to be adjusted.
AW Permissions - User permissions are role based, and can be arranged in a hierarchy for ease of maintenance. Levels can be defined that make it possible to allow access for contractors, suppliers or customers with appropriate levels of visibility.
AW Localization - Multiple localities and languages can be created, with appropriate timezone and presentation formats. The language literals can be redefined throughout so that terminology can be aligned to suit the business.
AW Lightweight User Interface - The interface is intentionally lightweight to increase performance on low power devices, and to reduce cost through minimal network overhead.
