Each document contains a set of versions, limited by a maximum version number. If this number is zero, then all document versions will be retained.
Documents have permissions set by either user ID, group ID, or project team membership. They can also be protectively marked with a security tag. If security marking is used, then it will be invisible to any user without the appropriate clearance.
Documents can be uploaded and linked to project or company records. Any files uploaded from project or company lists will automatically be linked to the main document list as well. Existing documents can be linked to new locations using the unique document reference (UDR) code, this does not incur additional storage overhead. All links to a document reference the same object, and versions will be up to date wherever they are linked from. Resources for a document will be released when all links to it have been removed.
